Conocimientos de inglés a nivel preintermedio

El objetivo del curso es alcanzar un conocimiento básico de la terminología jurídica en idioma inglés y de los conceptos fundamentales de diversas áreas del derecho inglés y norteamericano a través de ejercicios de vocabulario y gramática adaptados a los temas propuestos, la participación activa de los alumnos y el desarrollo de las habilidades de comprensión lectora y auditiva y de expresión oral y escrita.

Programa

- The language of the law: b asic legal terms and concepts

- Introduction to the legal system in the UK and in the US: Common Law and Equity, Common Law and Civil Law

- Constitutional Law: the British and American Constitutions, the separation of powers in the UK and US

- Court Structure in the UK and the US: types of jurisdiction, types of courts

- The legal profession: practice areas, legal education, a lawyer?s CV, law firm structure

- Employment Law: the contract of employment, discrimination, unfair dismissal, personal data

- Escribir artículos, cartas y documentos legales.
