» INTERNATIONAL SUCCESSION IN LIGHT OF THE NEW CIVIL AND COMMERCIAL CODE: A LITTLE BIG CHANGE?
By Leandro Baltar

Sumary

Private International Law in Argentina did not have, until the entry into force of the New Civil and Commercial Code, legislative autonomy. This does not mean that we lacked understanding of standards, quite the opposite, joined Velez style rules, but these were scattered throughout our insider legislation. The new Code brings a systematization of rules also generating some changes that force us to think again about where we are. As regards international successions , much it has been questioned , discussed, analyzed and criticized the solutions offered by the old Code and is where we wonder if our new regulation will solve and overcome all the old conflicts expecting a just solution and according to the new - and old ones needs of private international law.

Key words

International succession – Codification - Applicable law - Competent judge - New Civil and Commercial Code - Legislative powers
