The International Relations Office informs that the deadline for international students wishing to apply to study at the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) during the 2nd Semester (Fall) of 2026 is May 8th of 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

Please note that the International Students Reception Program 2026 will be conducted exclusively in person.

The International Students Exchange Program at UBA – Faculty of Law allows undergraduate students from foreign universities to study at our institution for one or two semesters.

When must I send my nomination?

In order to apply for the 2nd semester (Fall) of 2026 (early August to early December), the application deadline is May 8th of 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Admission decisions will be communicated within 20 (twenty) working days following the closure of the application reception period, in accordance with the UBA Code, Book I, Title XIV, Chapter C, Article 208.

For those interested in studying at the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) during the first semester (Spring) of 2027 (early March to early July), the application deadline will be announced in the middle of the second semester of 2026. Notifications regarding the acceptance of applications will be communicated in early December.

What documents do I need for my nomination?

All documentation must be submitted to the International Relations Office of the Faculty via the following form.

On the aforementioned it is mandatory to submit the following documents:

  • Passport (front and back);
  • Passport-sized photo (4x4);
  • Transcript of Records of the student’s home university;
  • Certificate or Formal Letter of the student’s home university indicating his/her condition as a regular student of Law or Sworn Translation degree (exclusionary);
  • Language Certificate or Formal Letter issued by the Student’s Home University, crediting a C1 level of Spanish proficiency (on duty with UBA Code, Book I, Title XIV, Chapter C, Article 210, 4th clause);
  • Foreign student registration application DOC (handwritten only);
  • A1 Form DOC; (to be to be digitally completed);
  • A2 Form DOC; (to be to be digitally completed);
  • Admission request from the student Home University.

What are the enrollment costs?

UBA - Faculty of Law established an administrative fee for students from universities with which it does not have an Academic Agreement. This fee is paid once the application to study at the institution is accepted, according to the deadlines set by the International Relations Office.

The costs, established by the Dean's Office resolution (Resolution [D] No.10556/25), are as follows:

  • Students from MERCOSUR member and associate states (**) without an agreement with FD-UBA: US$ 1000 (american dollars one thousand);
  • Students from universities not in MERCOSUR member and associate states and without an agreement with FD-UBA: US$ 1500 (american dollars one thousand five hundred);
  • Students from universities with a reciprocity agreement with FD-UBA: Exempt from paying administrative fees.

Student migratory procedure and reception

Once the application of the international exchange student into the programme has been approved, the student must initiate the necessary procedures to apply for a student visa at the Argentine Consulate in their country of origin.

Prior to the beginning of the semester, the International Relations Office will invite all international exchange students to an introductory meeting. During the aforementioned meeting, students will receive information in regard to academic and administrative matters relevant to their exchange programme.

General Academic Information

International students are subject to a special course registration procedure, designed to facilitate their integration into the Faculty’s academic environment. For a period of 7 (seven) working days, they may attend courses without being formally registered for them. Once this period has expired, international students must decide which courses they will take. This period begins immediately after the introductory meeting has ended.

International students can take courses from the “Ciclo Profesional Orientado (CPO)” (Professional Oriented Cycle). The aforementioned courses can last from one to four months and, depending on their duration, a specific number of credits is awarded as detailed below:

  • 4 (four) months = 4 (four) credits.
  • 3 (three) months = 3 (three) credits.
  • 2 (two) months = 2 (two) credits.
  • 1 (one) month = 1 (one) credit.

Each credit is equivalent to 13 (thirteen) hours and 30 (thirty) minutes of in person classes, not contemplating practice and study hours.
UBA - Faculty of Law uses a numerical grading system in which 10 (ten) is the highest mark that can be awarded, 0 (zero) the lowest mark assignable, and 4 (four) the minimum passing mark, in accordance with the provisions of the UBA Code, Book I, Title XIII, Chapter G, Article 601.

End of the Course

At the end of the semester, the International Relations Office will send out the academic transcript showing the courses passed and the marks obtained. Please note that in accordance with Resolution No. 18-01197 of the UBA Superior Council – Annex I – Title III – Chapter 2 – Article 27 (*), under which the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) does not allow students to undertake studies as tourists. Those who do not provide proof of their immigration status in the manner specified will not be able to obtain the Transcript of Records.

In accordance with the provisions of the UBA Code, Book I, Title XIV, Chapter C, Art. 214, once the relevant academic activities have been completed, the Faculty will issue the Transcript of Passed Courses within 90 (ninety) days.
