» POWER, LAW AND THE PRODUCTION OF A SUBJECT
By Nicolás Mathov

Sumary

This paper is based on the analysis of Pierre Legendre about “the juridical” as the juxtaposition of “the biological, the social and the unconscious”. Hence, Law does not deal with already instituted forms-of-life: it is the very institution of forms-of-life itself. A juridical system creates a taxonomy that defines beings by giving each of them a determined place or square to be occupied. An individual is mainly produced and generated as such, through an operation that confines him into a certain position within a genealogy tree. In that way, the object of Law is life itself and its capture under the facade of a “subject”
