Sumary
This document tends to understand the logic behind the justification of the Dakar Rally´s success
and the lack of social perception about the Rally like something invasive or inappropriate to the
Environment. At first, the document describes the Dakar Rally and the concept of sustainable
development. Then, it exposes the reasons why the Rally is considered harmful to the environment.
Once that proposition is accepted, the study approaches to the priorities of the argentine
political and economics’ model at the moment that the Rally took place. Al last, the main chapter
of this paper pretends to describe the values that are in dispute, that is, the identification of
the heartstrings that come in contact with the Rally at the social level. |
