The argentine rural communities have been suffering, specially since 1990, the expansion of a model
based on transgenic soy. This model has focused on economic accumulation at expense of basic rights
of rural sectors, such as the access and care of their lands, the guarantee of basic services for
human life and also its preservation.
In this context, different disciplines have designed strategies for these communities’ development.
Among them, the Renewable Energies appear in order to satisfy these communities’ needs without
entering in contradiction with the Enviroment.
On that basis, the study analyzes the concept of renewable energies in depth and the ways they
contribute to rural development. It describes the process of subjugation of rural communities’
rights in Argentina and then, approaches to the strategies proposed by “clean energies”. |
